Become a Police Officer

Becoming officer in Canada requires certain basic requirements:

– Must be at least 18 years old
– Must be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or landed immigrant
– Be proficient in English or French
– Have an unrestricted Canadian drivers licence with a good driving record
– Be in above-average physical condition
– Have secondary school diploma or equivalent
– Have high ethical and moral standards
– Have no criminal convictions for which a pardon has not been granted, and no pending charges
– Have good eyesight
– Be certified in First Aid and CPR
– Be able to pass security clearance and in-depth background check
– Pass the PATI Exam or RPAT Exam for the RCMP
